After a long hiatus, I am finally returning to blogging, something I used to love doing. Back in 2012, I was creating podcasts with other Vimeo Award winners, but I eventually burned out on blogging and creating content for my followers. I also felt guilty about spending too much time on social media instead of being a good husband when I got divorced. However, the past ten years have been a period of growth and change for me, and I am grateful for the support of my friends and family.
In 2011, I moved from Greensboro, NC, to Charleston, SC, for a job at Benefitfocus Media. Initially, I viewed Charleston as just a stepping stone, but as I got involved in the creative community, I began to appreciate the southern hospitality and warmth of the city. Two years later, I took a big leap and moved across the country to Santa Barbara, CA, for another job opportunity. I fell in love with the town's small-town charm, the beaches, and the mountains, but I also felt isolated in a new place. Luckily, a friend reached out to me and offered me a job at Nutanix in San Jose. Within a month, I had moved to the Bay Area, which brought me closer to family and allowed me to experience the amazing culture and beautiful landscape of the Bay Area.
Over the past four years, I have grown professionally at Nutanix and met some amazing people in the Bay Area. In December 2022, I decided to form an LLC, Talent Freaks, to focus on my landscape and infrared photography. The name is a tribute to all the talented creatives I have worked with over the years, and I hope to bring them into my professional projects as I continue to pursue my passion for photography.
